A real pleasure to welcome the Mayor of Bollington, Cllr Dickie Fletcher, to the practice, where principal dentist Dr Ellie Burrows and practice manager Sarah Phillips showed him around.
Then came a lovely moment. The Mayor showed us the names engraved on his chain of office, and there among them was Sarah's grandfather, who held the same office years ago. Sarah knew, of course. The rest of us had no idea, and she had never thought to mention it. She has worked at this practice since she was sixteen, so her family has been quietly serving this village for rather longer than we realised.
He also wanted to hear how things have been changing here, and there was plenty to show him: the repointed building and its new sign, the investment we keep making in equipment so that more treatments can be done under one roof, and the part a practice like ours plays in village life.
Bollington Dental Practice has looked after this town since 1977. We are proud to sponsor Macclesfield FC, the children's teams at Bollington United and Bollington Cricket Club, many of our team live locally, and some families here have trusted us across three generations.
Thank you to the Mayor for taking the time to visit, and for showing us a piece of Bollington history that had been hiding in plain sight.
