What have Long Eaton SNT been up to today? ๐
Our officers have been out and about on foot listening to residents talk about local concerns, from these conversations we have been undertaking actions to tackle the issues that residents have raised.
Here is a look into what one day on Long Eaton Safer Neighbourhood Team looks like.
12pm - Began duty with a team meeting. We discussed recent incidents, intelligence and locally identified problems.
1pm - Officers stopped a vehicle for driving through a red light on Wilsthorpe Road, checks later revealed the driver had no insurance so the car was seized as a result. The two males were also stop searched based on recent intelligence.
2:30pm - PC Stapley and PCSO Cottingham visited a local secondary school for a meeting with the safeguarding team to discuss recent matters.
4pm - All officers conducted a search alongside our partner agencies of an address following recent intelligence regarding weapons, on this occasion, nothing was located within the address.
6pm - PCSO Rodgers located a missing child in the Long Eaton area and was assisted by PC Sheldon, PC Stapley and our local response units who returned the child home.
7pm - PC Sheldon and PC Stapley conducted night-time speed checks in our hotspot speeding areas, issued tickets for two drivers who were exceeding 40mph in a 30mph zone. They also offered words of advice to other road users. One driver was found to have incorrect documentation resulting in them being uninsured for that vehicle.
8pm - A blue moped failed to stop for PC Dickinson and PCSO Cottingham in the Petersham area, which headed into Sandiacre and was driving in an antisocial and dangerous manner. After using local knowledge, the bike was located at an address in Sandiacre. This bike was notified off road and therefore being driven without insurance. The bike was seized.
