Reception / Decontamination / Nursing Support Assistant
Part-Time – Maternity Cover
Location: Londonderry (Derry)
Days: Tuesday, Wednesday & Thursday
Hours: Part-Time
Start: Flexible
We are seeking a dependable and motivated individual to join our established dental team on a part-time maternity cover contract.
This is a varied and hands-on role combining reception duties, instrument decontamination and clinical nursing support within a busy, well-organised practice. There may be potential for a longer-term opportunity .
No previous dental experience is necessary — full training and support will be provided.

The Role
You will assist with:
Reception
• Welcoming patients and managing enquiries
• Booking appointments and handling calls
• Processing payments and supporting the smooth running of the practice
Decontamination
• Cleaning and preparing instruments
• Maintaining high standards of infection control
• Supporting efficient surgery turnaround
Nursing Support
• Assisting the dentist chairside (training provided)
• Preparing treatment rooms
• Supporting patient care during procedures

We Are Looking For Someone Who:
• Can commit to working Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday
• Is reliable, punctual and professional
• Communicates clearly and confidently
• Is organised and comfortable following structured procedures
• Has a genuine interest in working within a healthcare environment
Experience in healthcare or customer-facing roles is welcome but not essential.

Training & Development
As this role includes clinical nursing support, the successful applicant will be supported to enrol on a recognised dental nursing qualification within an agreed timeframe following appointment.
Guidance and mentoring will be provided to support this pathway.

This is a clinical environment involving established infection control procedures. Immunisation status will be discussed as part of the onboarding process.
