In this case we only needed to treat the front 4 teeth with Composite Bonding, to renew and protect the edges of the teeth that had been worn down over the years.

Composite Bonding, is non-invasive, composite material is purely added to the surface of the teeth – no drilling.

An incredibly natural smile upgrade for the lovely .hough with and some teeth whitening.

Lu came to see us and she already had great shaped teeth, just some crowding mostly on the lower teeth.

The great thing about doing Invisalign at this stage (mild crowding) is that you can have a shorter course of Invisalign, straighten the teeth, and then retain this lovely straight position with a retainer.

There’s not only the AESTHETIC benefits but also the HEALTH benefits:

1. Improved Gum Health:

• Crowded or widely spaced teeth can lead to swollen, red gums. When teeth are properly aligned, the gum tissue fits more securely around the teeth, creating the strongest defense against potential gum problems.

2. Easier to clean

• Clearer Access: Straightening teeth eliminates the “nooks and crannies” where bacteria thrive, making your daily hygiene routine much more effective.
• When teeth are straight, they’re easier to floss between.

3. Correct Bite Function

Our goal is to improve your smile, without anyone knowing you’ve had “work” done.

This patient had Composite Bonding to repair worn edges, close gaps between the teeth and to improve the shapes and proportions.

We want to create a beautiful smile, whilst keeping it natural looking.

That’s why I created The LUCEO Method of Composite Bonding.

This is my approach to Composite, layering, tinting and polishing in a particular approach so it looks at close to natural teeth as it possibly can.

I love this treatment, as it doesn’t change the shape of your natural tooth at all. It’s purely added to the surface of the tooth.

No drilling, no injections, no pain.

THE LUCEO METHOD:

- Ensuring the shapes are natural - and not blocky

- We also put a slight step change between the front two teeth and the two teeth next to this are ever so slightly shorter - as this is what’s found in a natural smile

- layering more translucent and more opaque shades of composite

- we only use a certain level of ‘white’ to ensure the results are not fake looking

- ⁠adding more translucency towards the bottom of the tooth

- ⁠adding mamelon ridge like structures within the tooth, just like a natural tooth has

- ⁠adding tints like a white halo tint at the bottom of the tooth

- ⁠shaping the correct line angles into the tooth so the light reflects in the same way it would do on a natural tooth

- ⁠polishing with a 7 point process to achieve a super high shine

A) Align

- Invisalign to straighten the teeth - especially the lower crowding

- As our teeth tend to crowd as we age, due to the jaw tending to narrow as you get older - it’s amazing to nip this in the bud and prevent it from getting any worse

- we also levelled the gum heights at the top of the teeth to show the right proportion of teeth when she smiles - and ensure the lips frame the teeth in harmony

B) Brighten

- a 2-4 week course of Teeth Whitening gels to brighten the smile overall and ensure we can use the thinnest possible layer in the last stage

C) Contour

- we then smoothed any jagged edges of the teeth

- then applied an Ultra thin layer of composite using The LUCEO Method for a natural looking result

- we treated the front 4 teeth here only, as from the canines out we already had a great shape
