An incredibly natural smile upgrade for the lovely .hough with and some teeth whitening.
Lu came to see us and she already had great shaped teeth, just some crowding mostly on the lower teeth.
The great thing about doing Invisalign at this stage (mild crowding) is that you can have a shorter course of Invisalign, straighten the teeth, and then retain this lovely straight position with a retainer.
There’s not only the AESTHETIC benefits but also the HEALTH benefits:
1. Improved Gum Health:
• Crowded or widely spaced teeth can lead to swollen, red gums. When teeth are properly aligned, the gum tissue fits more securely around the teeth, creating the strongest defense against potential gum problems.
2. Easier to clean
• Clearer Access: Straightening teeth eliminates the “nooks and crannies” where bacteria thrive, making your daily hygiene routine much more effective.
• When teeth are straight, they’re easier to floss between.
3. Correct Bite Function
Misalignment often leads to ‘ malocclusion’ (or a bad bite position) which can cause various physical issues over time:
• Reduced Tooth Wear: Because an improper bite can cause certain teeth to experience excessive friction, leading to premature wear, chipping, or flattening of the enamel.
• Jaw Health: Realigning the bite can alleviate the stress placed on the temporomandibular joint (TMJ), potentially reducing headaches or jaw pain associated with grinding or uneven pressure.
4. Better Overall Systemic Health
The mouth is the gateway to the rest of the body. Clinical studies have shown that oral infections can be linked to more serious conditions, including heart disease, diabetes, and stroke. By using Invisalign to achieve a healthier alignment and reducing the risk of gum disease, you are effectively supporting your overall systemic wellbeing.
Teeth Whitening - safety and effectively brightened Lu’s smile.
Tooth Contouring - as Lu’s teeth were already great shapes and proportions - all we needed to do was a very very light bit of tooth contouring - smoothing the teeth with a disc to smooth away some uneven edges. Keeping everything very natural.
