Professor Youssef began his impressive medical career in 1990 when he completed his medical degree at the University of Damascus. His passion for surgery and desire to obtain the highest qualifications motivated him to pursue training at one of Europe's leading medical institutions. Subsequently, he relocated to the prestigious Royal Free Hospital in London, where he continued intensive surgical training. At this renowned institution, he acquired comprehensive knowledge and practical skills in general surgery and specialized hepatobiliary surgery, which became his primary field of interest.
🩺Academic and Research Period
Following his achievement of the prestigious Fellow of the Royal College of Surgeons (FRCS) qualification in 2000, Professor Youssef dedicated himself to research work, conducting advanced scientific projects. His commitment to medical research resulted in obtaining a doctorate in surgery from the University of London, marking another significant milestone in his academic career. In 2003, he joined the prestigious rotational surgical training program at South West Deanery, where he had the opportunity to work in various specialized medical centers, further deepening his knowledge and experience.

The year 2008 proved to be a pivotal point in Professor Youssef's career. He successfully completed the FRCS (General Surgery) examination and was registered as a specialist with the General Medical Council (GMC) following the attainment of his Certificate of Completion of Training (CCT) in general surgery. These prestigious qualifications confirmed his high competencies and commitment to advancing surgical skills. His unwavering pursuit of excellence culminated in his appointment as a Consultant Surgeon in the United Kingdom in 2009, a position he continues to hold today.

In 2010, Professor Youssef completed a fellowship at Birmingham Hartland Hospital, where he further developed his expertise in advanced surgical procedures. His dynamically evolving career led him in 2012 to hospitals in Colchester and Ipswich, where he developed a particular interest in laparoscopic abdominal cavity and abdominal wall surgery. This minimally invasive surgical technique, requiring exceptional precision and skill, became one of his principal specializations. Currently, Professor Youssef serves as Clinical Lead in emergency surgery, where his experience and knowledge are invaluable to patients requiring immediate surgical intervention.
