Occlusion Symposium: 5th April 2025
The secrets of successful, long-term restorations

A solid understanding of the principles of occlusion is crucial for the provision of successful, long-term restorative treatments for tooth wear and other conditions. This one-day symposium for early career dentists on the fundamentals of occlusion aims to enhance your knowledge in this field. You will leave the day with a firm knowledge of the basic principles of occlusion and an introduction to a range of postgraduate courses you may wish to consider undertaking in order to extend your knowledge further.

Who is eligible to attend?

ALL dental professionals are invited to register for the Symposium now that the early career priority period is closed.

Common oral hygiene mistakes and how to avoid them 🪥

Refine your routine with these tips. Thank you to Chloe Warner from our Dental Hygiene team for sharing these:

❌ Not flossing under the gum → ✅ Glide the floss gently, following the curve of each tooth to prevent gum irritation.

❌ Only Flossing When You Feel Something is Stuck → ✅ use floss or interdental brushes daily to remove plaque and help prevent cavities.

❌ Not Brushing for Long Enough → ✅ Brush your teeth for at least 2 minutes, twice a day to ensure a thorough clean.

❌ Skipping the Gumline → ✅ Angle your brush at 45° to clean where your teeth meet your gums.

This lovely lady came to see us with some dental infections affecting her upper left teeth.

The treatment was planned and carried out by Dr Andrew Dawood (for the surgical aspects of treatment) and Dr Begonia Martí (for the cosmetic / restorative aspect of treatment).

Treatment entailed removing 3 badly infected teeth with immediate placement of a provisional bridge, followed by implant placement (2 in total).

After healing was complete: 2 porcelain veneers, a 3-unit implant bridge based on 2 implants, and 2 dental crowns were placed.

The patient was delighted with her new natural smile and it has been a real delight for us to help her achieve this 😊
