As your practice grows and your skill level increases, you may want to start doing more dentistry on less patients.

Moving from simple to comprehensive, full arch dentistry requires a higher level of skill with special techniques and protocols that allow control and precision to be maintained throughout treatment.

Treatment requires more appointments over a longer period of time and managing the journey becomes crucial.

The course will be clinically orientated and focus on *Treatment planning and sequencing to maintain stability and avoid emergencies *Worn dentition *Advanced temporisation *Occlusal morphology & adjustment.

Days are split into approximately 40% seminar and 60% hands-on.
Delegates are encouraged to bring in cases to discuss.
Delegate numbers are limited to 8 ensuring an intimate and constructive learning environment.

IS THERE STILL A PLACE FOR CAST POSTS ?

Mechanical dentisty is unforgiving and failures can be catastrophic. Precision is key and if acheived, eliminates dependancy on invisable and unassessable chemical reactions.

A single solid material with minimal thickness of luting cement = No flexing, no leakage and good force distribution. 

To achieve success :
✅️Ensure an intimate fit and adequate length.
✅️Use a direct pattern resin technique - will give a more intimate fit than an impression
✅️Use a technician experienced in metal work and casting
✅️Request no finishing of the post by the technician

OCCLUSAL ADJUSTMENT should enhance the tooth morphology, not flatten it.

As you adjust, accentuate the parabolic cuspal morphology which means adjusting around the marked areas - on areas which do not have occlusal marking !

The idea is to convert large contact areas into small punctate dots.

Always discard the initial mix from the mixing tip before going on to the teeth

Unset impression material renders an impression useless and should be retaken. The area will appear soft, gooey and shiny.

An accurate impression surface should appear clean, crisp, matt and firm.

Treatment decisons are multifactorial :

Patient factors - cost, tollerance, time and wishes.

Dentist factors - skills, experiece and biases,  Scientific evidence. 

What's important is evaluate as treatment proceeds and take the time needed to assess and discuss. That way an informed decision is made that both dentist and patient are comfortable with.

It may not be the same decision made on another patient with a similar scenario or that a colleague makes.
