From crowding to a straighter smile 🦷✨

Our lovely patient came to us because she was unhappy with the crowding of the upper and lower teeth, particularly the protrusion of one of her upper teeth.

After a detailed orthodontic assessment, we found moderate crowding in the upper arch and severe crowding in the lower arch. We talked through the different treatment options and, due to the amount of crowding, recommended orthodontic treatment with extractions.

After discussing the options, our patient decided to go ahead. The necessary extractions were carried out to create the space needed for her orthodontic treatment.

Now, after completion of orthodontic treatment, our patient can enjoy a healthier, more aligned smile! 🤍

Starting the week strong with a lovely Invisalign case 👏

This patient presented with quite a pronounced overjet (distance that the upper front teeth sit at in front of the front lower teeth when biting together).

Why is having a higher overjet not ideal? 😮

1. Higher risk of damaging or chipping the front teeth
2. Less efficient bite which can contribute to jaw discomfort and uneven tooth wear.
3. Upper teeth protrude which affects lip closure and facial profile.

Following Invisalign treatment with Mandibular Advancement, our patient was able to correct the alignment and overjet whilst guiding the lower jaw to position more forward while the patient was still growing.
