Meet senior dental nurse Marija, who is here to give you tips during pregnancy to help protect your teeth and gums! 🤍🦷
1. Hormonal changes -> Red swollen gums which bleed more readily
Hormones can make gums more sensitive and prone to bleeding
• See the hygienist every 3–4 months
• Floss regularly
• Brush twice a day
2. Increased snacking --> risk of cavities
Frequent snacking = higher cavity risk
• Choose cheese, nuts, fruit & veg 🧀🥕
• Drink water 💧
• Keep sugar to mealtimes
3. Morning sickness --> Can wear enamel and increase sensitivity
• Rinse with fluoride mouthwash after being sick
• Avoid brushing straight away
4. Continue to see your dentist for regular check-ups 🦷✨
5. Tell your dentist:
• If you are pregnant
• Your trimester
• Any medications
