Nuclear option?

In the two decades before the Second World War, a German company, Auergesellschaft, produced radioactive toothpaste. Doramad Radioaktive Zahncreme contained small amounts of the metallic element thorium and was thus slightly radioactive. According to the company, this provided a number of health benefits, including the destruction of germs and a general increase in “life energy”. Production of the toothpaste continued during the war but a growing realisation of the dangers of radioactivity brought it to an end in the 1940s.
