Many people assume diet drinks are harmless for their teeth because they are sugar free, but acidity can still have a significant impact on enamel over time.

Frequent exposure to acidic drinks, including diet fizzy drinks, can gradually wear away enamel and increase sensitivity and tooth wear.
A few simple habits can help reduce the risk:

• Keep acidic drinks to mealtimes
• Avoid sipping throughout the day
• Use a straw where possible
• Wait before brushing after acidic food or drinks
