Our patient came to see us wanting to improve both function and aesthetics. He had always felt his canines appeared too large, and over time had noticed increasing chipping of his front teeth.

In this case, we first completed whitening with before placing 4 layered composite veneers to improve proportions, restore function, and enhance aesthetics ✨✅

The patient was over the moon with the results and left with the smile he had always wanted 🙌💯

BYE BYE GOLD 👋🏽

This new patient needed a same-day solution ahead of filming for an upcoming movie. Gold crowns didn’t quite fit the brief for 🎬

With final confirmation for shooting tomorrow, it was today or never 😎

After removing a gold crown placed over 20 years ago, we were surprised to find there had been no tooth preparation underneath! Originally, the plan was to replace it with a CEREC crown, but given the circumstances we pivoted from a CEREC to layered composite — keeping things conservative and future-proof for Invisalign and whitening.

Treatment planning is never just about today — it’s about the bigger picture 💪🏽 🙌

Not every case follows the textbook…

This patient came to me seeking an aesthetic improvement after long standing gum disease. Her periodontal condition had been stabilised, but she was left with significant bone loss and gingival recession. From a textbook, gold standard perspective, extraction would have been the recommended option…

However, when speaking with the patient you could clearly see how important it was to her, to keep her own teeth for as long as possible. Even knowing that these teeth may eventually need to be lost, there is always a strong emotional attachment to your natural teeth and it is important to appreciate this.

After fully understanding the risks and limitations, we chose a more conservative, patient centred approach 🤝
👉 4 supra-gingival composite veneers, designed to improve aesthetics while still allowing effective cleaning and respecting her periodontal health ✨

3 years later, she is still smiling confidently with her own teeth 😄🎉 & extremely happy.

This case is a reminder that while gold standard treatment is important, listening to the patient, understanding their values, and tailoring treatment to the individual is just as critical when designing a treatment plan 🙌
