You may have heard orthodontists describe fixed braces as more predictable than clear aligners – but what does that actually mean in practice?
With fixed braces, the appliance is always working. The force is continuous, the system is rigid, and tooth movement follows consistent biomechanical principles. Lingual braces offer all of this while remaining completely hidden from view.
Clear aligners work differently. Because they're removable, treatment depends to some extent on how consistently they're worn. The material they're made from also changes over time, which means the force they deliver isn't constant throughout treatment.
For many patients, aligners are a brilliant choice – and at LLOC, we offer them alongside lingual braces and fixed braces. What matters most to us is finding the right fit for each person. Dr Asif Chatoo will always take the time to understand your case, your lifestyle, and your goals before making a recommendation.
