Woodlands wishes We make unique handcrafted fairy doors and tooth fairy doors from start to finish. As a result of this Woodlands Wishes began.

We make unique solid wood handcrafted fairy doors, tooth fairy doors, pirate doors. Handcrafted from start to finish each door is unique and can take up to 5 hours to complete excluding, drying time.Each door is designed and crafted by Ian who challenges himself with every design. Ian's journey to make these beautiful doors began when making a fairy door for the garden shed which the children I ca

re for as a childminder said " it doesn't open".From that day several years ago his journey to create these opening fairy doors began. Since then he has created several different styles using his imagination and the world around him.His latest design Enchanted Wishes was an experiment which friends and family enthused over. Embellishments range from metal cogs, skull and crossbones to flowers and fairies. These beautiful doors can be personalised or if left unpersonalised can be passed down through the family as an heirloom. Every finish is different dependent on the wood, paint, stain, dyes and wax finishes used and how it is absorbed into the wood and grain. Our fairy doors are painted using a variety of paints - acrylic and chalk paint, the later being eco friendly and child safe. We also use wood stains and wood dyes.These will be stated in each items description. Our doors are sealed with wax by Authentico which is Eco and child friendly. Some doors are sealed using a clear sealer and will be stated in the items description. These items are not designed as toys and supervision is advised if under three due to small,parts. These doors are a beautiful quality gift for a loved child - son,daughter,niece, nephew, cousin,god daughter, godson - or for a loved one no matter what age they are. Tooth fairy doors come with a small organza bag inside for placing a tooth awaiting a visit from the tooth fairy or for placing a gift inside for a loved one. We do hope that you find our gifts just as beautiful as we do and that you take great pleasure in this treasured gift. Price range from £7 for a hanging door to £40 for a tooth fairy/ pirate door. This week it’s the turn of the coasters.
Wednesday we sorted out the wood supplies so that we could organise them into categories of coasters,pen holders/rests and candle holders
Yesterday Ian cut,sanded and buffed,today he’s treating them with beeswax which brings out the beauty of the grain and letting them dry in the garden using the weather to help the beeswax soak in.
