▪️ Spacing – a prominent midline diastema and additional spacing across the anterior teeth.

▪️ Tooth proportions – discrepancies in tooth width, length and shape, contributing to an unbalanced smile.

▪️ Alignment – irregular tooth positioning affecting the overall symmetry of the upper arch.

▪️ Discolouration – uneven tooth shades and intrinsic staining.

The treatment:

Using 10 direct composite veneers, we carefully redesigned the upper arch to close unwanted spaces, improve tooth proportions, create the appearance of improved alignment and establish a more harmonious smile.

By considering tooth morphology, symmetry, incisal edge position and overall smile width, we were able to achieve a dramatic aesthetic improvement without orthodontics.

Composite veneers can provide an alternative to orthodontics in carefully selected cases, although they do not physically reposition teeth.

This transformation wasn’t simply about improving the colour of the teeth. It was about addressing several small imperfections that collectively affected the overall harmony of the smile.

These composite veneers had served our patient well for 8 years but smile design has changed considerably in that time and so had what we wanted to achieve.

For the redo, we focused on:

✨ Lengthening the teeth for more balanced proportions
✨ Widening the smile and reducing the buccal corridors
✨ Adding more natural anatomy and character
✨ Creating a softer, more refined finish

The result is still a beautiful white smile, but with a more natural, modern design that suits the patient today.

After completing orthodontic treatment, this lovely patient wanted to refine the final details of her smile ahead of her wedding day.

Using direct freehand composite veneers, we focused on:

Not every smile makeover has to look the same. ✨

The photo on the left is in fact composite veneers that we created previously. At the time, this patient wanted a softer, more natural shade that blended seamlessly with his features. Some time later, his preferences changed, and he decided he wanted a brighter, fresher smile.

That’s one of the things I love about cosmetic dentistry. Every smile is designed around the individual. From tooth shape and texture to brightness and character, you have a huge say in the final result. My job isn’t to create my perfect smile. It’s to create your perfect smile.

For this refresh, we kept the natural anatomy but increased the brightness to achieve a cleaner, more confident look that still suits his face.

The best smile makeover isn’t about choosing the whitest shade. It’s about choosing the smile that feels most like you.
