Our father and son dentist team bring you the best of both worlds – a modern approach to dentistry combined with traditional attitudes to your care. Chris Smirthwaite has owned The Smile Centre since 1980 and was joined by his son, Dan in 2014. Supporting our dentists is our talented dental therapist, Vicky. The inclusion of a dental therapist to our team means Smile Centre patients have prompt access to a range of qualified dental professionals to ensure their health and dental desires are well catered for in a timely and unhurried way. We make use of precision technology including mouth cancer screening equipment called Velscope, air flow to remove stubborn stains and intra-oral cameras, which can magnify teeth up to 15 times, allowing our clinicians to diagnose problems earlier and achieve pinpoint accuracy during restorative and cosmetic treatments.

With snow forecast and colder conditions expected, we kindly ask all patients attending appointments on Monday 5th January to allow extra time for their journey to the practice.

If you feel it is not safe to attempt your journey, or if you’re unable to make your appointment due to the weather, please call us or leave a voicemail as early as possible so we can assist and rearrange where needed.
