Straight teeth are one thing. Getting them into the RIGHT position is another.

This was a particularly challenging case, and one I’m really proud of.

Our patient presented with significant tooth wear, uneven edges and teeth that weren’t ideally positioned.

And here’s something I always try to explain…

Getting teeth straight isn’t necessarily the hardest part of orthodontics.

It’s getting the correct angles, inclinations and orientation of each tooth, while considering the bite, function and what we ultimately want the finished smile to look like.

That’s where careful planning and experience really matter.

Once we’d achieved the alignment we were aiming for, we completed the transformation with whitening and just six composite edge bonding restorations, rebuilding worn edges and restoring more balanced tooth proportions.

The result? A brighter, fuller, more harmonious smile, while working conservatively with the patient’s natural teeth. 🦷✨

Yes, the cosmetic difference is significant.

But for me, the real satisfaction comes from improving the foundations first, considering how the teeth function together, and only then adding the finishing touches.

Alignment first. Function always. Aesthetics as the finishing touch.

A little recap of the last week… 🦷✨

From an incredible weekend at the Bespoke Smile Academy, learning, refining and pushing my dentistry to another level, straight back into practice and putting that same energy into the patients who trust us with their smiles.

One thing I never want to do in dentistry is stand still.

There is always another detail to improve, another technique to refine and another way we can make the experience and results better for our patients.

Courses like this aren’t about completely changing the way I work. They’re about fine-tuning the details, challenging myself and continuing to raise my own standards.

And then, ultimately, bringing all of that back to the patients in my chair. 🤍

There are reviews that make you smile, and then there are ones like this.

✨ A closer look at the smile behind yesterday’s review…

This was a compromise case, but one that shows just how much can be achieved with careful planning and composite dentistry alone.

Our patient already had significant composite build-ups on her upper lateral incisors, so rather than simply adding more composite, we looked at the proportions of the upper six front teeth as a whole.

By carefully rebalancing the existing composites, making the central teeth wider and refining the shapes and proportions across the smile, we were able to create a much more balanced and harmonious result. 🦷✨

No whitening. No alignment. Just carefully planned composite bonding and composite veneers.

She was happy with her natural tooth colour and, with her wedding approaching, our goal was never artificial perfection. It was to work with what we had and create a smile that still felt completely like her. 🤍💍

And judging by the lovely review she shared yesterday…

“They still feel like my teeth, just the version I always wanted.”

I think we achieved exactly that. 🥹

POV: When your nurse has watched you do it enough times and decides she’s ready to take over 😂🦷

Apparently my services are no longer required.

Years of training, courses, planning and experience… only to be pushed out of the way by your own nurse. 🤣

To be fair, with the amount they do behind the scenes, I’m surprised it’s taken this long for them to stage a takeover.

🎵 Just beat it… seems particularly appropriate.

We can show before and afters all day, but hearing what a smile transformation has actually meant to someone will always mean more.

In her own words:

“I honestly couldn’t recommend Krish and the team enough! I went in knowing I wanted to change my smile but I don’t think I realised how much of a difference it would actually make to my confidence until they were finished 🥹

Krish has been amazing from start to finish, such a perfectionist and really listened to what I wanted. Nothing ever felt rushed and he made sure I was completely happy with everything before we were finished. 🎵 We don’t talk anymore…

Apparently because we don’t need to. 😅

After years of working together, Emma somehow knows what’s coming before I even say anything.

No eye contact.
No instructions.
No panic.

Just an aligner box flying through the air… and complete trust. 😂

The funny moments make great videos.

But behind them is something we’re really proud of.

Great dentistry isn’t just about the dentist.

By simply improving the position of the teeth and brightening the smile, we were able to create a result that feels fresher, healthier and more confident while preserving every bit of natural tooth structure.

One of the biggest misconceptions in cosmetic dentistry is that every smile needs bonding.

We brush our teeth every day…

But most people still miss one (or more) of these simple habits.

🪥 Brush for 2 minutes
Take your time and clean every surface. Rushing means plaque gets left behind.

🦷 Clean between your teeth at least once a day
Your toothbrush only cleans around 60% of the tooth surface. Interdental brushes remove plaque and food from the areas your toothbrush simply can’t reach.

👅 Brush or scrape your tongue
Your tongue is home to millions of bacteria. Cleaning it helps reduce bad breath, lowers the number of bacteria in your mouth and leaves your mouth feeling noticeably fresher.

Healthy smiles aren’t built by doing one thing perfectly.

They’re built by doing the little things consistently.

The best review? Time. ✨

This photo was taken at Laura’s wedding.

Standing beside her is Emma.

Both have been part of our practice family for years and, over the last 5 years, both have completed smile transformations with clear aligners, whitening, and composite bonding.

What makes this photo special isn’t just how beautiful they both look.

It’s that years after treatment, they’re still smiling with confidence.

As dentists, we love seeing patients long after treatment has finished.

Not just because the work still looks great.

But because following our patients’ journeys teaches us what truly lasts.

What ages well.
What remains stable.
What continues to give people confidence years down the line.

And along the way, something else happens.
