Did you know chew sticks are twigs or roots of certain plants that are chewed until one end is frayed. This end can be used to brush against the teeth while the other end can be used as a toothpick.
The earliest chew sticks have been dated to babylonia in 3500BCE and an Egyptian tomb from 3000BCE. They are also mentioned in Chinese records dating from 1600BCE.

In some parts of the world this tradition is still used today .

ENDODONTICS

Endodontics is a dental specialty that focuses on the treatment of dental pulp. The word "endodontics" is derived from the Greek words β€œendo,” which means β€œinside” and β€œodont,” which means tooth. The dental pulp exists within the center of a tooth and is comprised of living connective tissue and special cells known as odontoblasts. The practice of endodontics is concerned primarily with the removal of diseased dental pulp and its replacement with filling material, an operation known as root canal therapy.
