To all my lovely patients, I’d like to give you an update on what’s happening at our practice.
After 23 years, the ever increasing workload of actually running the business finally got too much . There are only so many times you can update a menopause policy and stay up at night re-writing your data protection guidelines before you loose the will to live. I love the actual dentistry side of things and decided that in order to maintain my sanity, the answer was to sell the practice, but still work there. Someone else has the headache of running it then and I can enjoy what I do best, which is basically “ teeth “.
After 8 months of negotiations and stress the sale finally went through on Friday night.
The new owner, Mo has a practice in Liverpool but wants to expand into Leeds.
Emma and I will be working as normal.
The fees, Denplan, and everything else teeth related, including our lovely smiling faces remain the same, except we will be swapping Monday working to Wednesday in late July as the new owner is working on a Monday then.
There will be a new practice name and lots of structural changes as the practice is being expanded.I would like to assure you that the noisy stuff will be kept to an absolute minimum during surgery time but there will be some disruption so please bear with us.
I am excited about the future but the blip on my horizon is the loss of Clare. Our 30 years together, through thick and thin has come to an end.I don’t have the words to properly express how that makes me feel and have shed a fair few tears but life has to move on and she is now a practice manager at a much larger practice in Pudsey .
At present we have Marian on reception who is the practice manager at the Liverpool practice. As you can all appreciate, it is a steep learning curve for her and she is finding her feet, so please be gentle with her 🙏.
Here’s to the next chapter of our journey together.
