DID YOU KNOW? Your bite is just as important as your smile! ✨🦷

Have you ever noticed that your upper front teeth stick out further than your lower teeth? 🤔

This is known as an OVERJET, and while a small overjet is completely normal, an increased overjet can affect more than just the appearance of your smile!

⚠️ An excessive overjet may lead to:
🦷 Increased risk of injury to the front teeth
🍎 Difficulties with biting and chewing
💬 Speech difficulties in some cases
💙 Changes in confidence and self-esteem

🌟 The good news? There are treatment options!

From functional appliances and braces to Invisalign® and, in more complex adult cases, jaw surgery, treatment can be tailored to your individual needs…

⏰ Timing matters! Early orthodontic assessment can help identify the best time to begin treatment, especially while children and teenagers are still growing.

👉 SWIPE RIGHT to learn more about overjet, why it matters and how we can help you achieve a healthier, more confident smile!

⏰ Don’t let a long NHS waiting list mean missing your child’s best opportunity for treatment!

The growing years are the best time to correct certain bite problems. If treatment is delayed for too long, we may miss the window where we can guide jaw growth naturally.

➡️ This young patient had:
🦷 A large overjet (prominent front teeth)
🦷 A deep bite
🦷 A chipped front tooth – a common injury when front teeth stick out and are less protected

✨ By starting orthodontic treatment at the right stage of growth, we corrected the bite, reduced the overjet and improved both function and protection of the front teeth.

🧒👧 When should children be seen?
We recommend an orthodontic assessment from around 7 years of age. This doesn’t always mean treatment starts immediately, but it helps us identify children who would benefit from treatment while they’re still growing.

If your child is on a long NHS waiting list, consider a private orthodontic assessment. For some children, waiting too long can mean missing the ideal growth window, making treatment more complex later.

📞 If you’re unsure whether your child is ready for an orthodontic assessment, get in touch, we’re happy to advise!

Could Invisalign® be the right choice for your smile? ✨

Invisalign® uses a series of custom-made, clear aligners to gently move your teeth into their ideal position. For many patients, it’s a discreet and convenient alternative to fixed braces.

Invisalign may be a great option if you’d like to correct:
🦷 Crowded teeth
🦷 Gaps between teeth
🦷 Overbites
🦷 Underbites
🦷 Crossbites
🦷 Mild to moderate tooth misalignment

Why do so many patients choose Invisalign?

✔️ Nearly invisible aligners
✔️ Removable for eating, drinking, brushing and flossing
✔️ Comfortable, with no metal brackets or wires
✔️ Fewer emergency appointments due to broken brackets
✔️ Digital treatment planning, so you can preview your future smile before treatment begins

While Invisalign is an excellent solution for many patients, it isn’t the best option for everyone. During your consultation, we’ll assess your smile and recommend the treatment that’s most suitable for your individual need, whether that’s Invisalign or fixed braces.

📍 Ready to start your smile journey?
Book your consultation today and let our specialist orthodontists help you achieve the confident smile you deserve.
