Congratulations to Dr Zoe, who this week completed the Advanced Dental Seminars 1 year course with Dr Chris Orr in Cosmetic and Aesthetic Restorative Dentistry 🎉🍾🦷

Zoe has been travelling to London for the past year to attend lectures and study days to learn the most up to date techniques and bring this wealth of knowledge back to her patients her at Woodstock Dental.

Our practice partners Dr Caroline, Dr Nelson and Dr Gordon completed this same course in 2015 and are so proud of Zoe as we know how hard she has worked this year.

We bid a fond farewell this week to our wonderful hygienist Heather as she moves on from Woodstock to work closer to home. Here is the team enjoying a leaving night for her

The practice owners Nelson, Caroline & Gordon have worked with Heather for over 10 years in 4 different practices so will miss her dearly.

**CHANGES FOR OUR PATIENTS**

From the 1st of November all NHS dental practices in Scotland will be working under a new dental contract. The contract and the changes within it have been issued by the Scottish Government. As we are a mixed NHS & Private dental practice we have to adhere to these changes.

All patients visiting the practice from the 1st November 2023 will notice changes as a result of the new NHS contract. There are changes to the costs of treatments, the types of treatments available and notably a reduction in the frequency of routine examinations for the majority of patients from 6 to 12 months.

Under the new contract, the biggest changes most patients are likely to notice are :-

- As noted above the change from a 6 month to a 12 month examination recall.

- An increase in the costs of treatment as determined by the Scottish Government.

- Some items of treatment may no longer be available under the NHS.

- An emphasis on preventive dentistry.

Current feedback that we’ve had from our patients are that the majority of you are still keen to be seen on a more regular 6 monthly basis.

If you would prefer to seen on a more regular basis than every 12 months you may have the option to have a private examination carried out at 6 months which would be outwith the NHS.
