ORKNEY DENTAL STROMNESS

We would like to inform you that our Orkney Dental Stromness practice is currently experiencing an outage affecting both our internet and phone systems. As a result, we do not have access to emails or incoming/outgoing calls at this time. Our IT team are aware of the issue and are working hard to resolve the problem as quickly as possible.

In the meantime, all calls are being diverted to our sister practice Orkney Dental Kirkwall to ensure continued support.

We apologise for any inconvenience this may cause and appreciate your patience while we work to restore full service.

We’re hiring

Due to the expansion of our practices, we have the following positions available:

🦷 Trainee Dental Nurse/Qualified Dental Nurse

Trainee role £11.30 per hour including island allowance (20 and under), £13.01 per hour including island allowance (21 and over).
Qualified Dental Nurse rates start from £15.05 per hour including island allowance.

📞 Dental Receptionist

£13.80 per hour including island allowance.

The above roles will work across our practices at Daisybank, Kirkwall and Stromness, however if a particular location is better suited to the successful candidate this may be considered.

These positions offer full-time hours over 4 days , 8am - 5.30pm, with no evening or weekend working required. Part-time hours also considered.

As part of our benefits we offer Active Life Membership for you and your family.

You will work with a friendly and supportive team and join Scotland’s largest dental group, Clyde Munro Dental.

Due to the current conditions, our team may experience delays getting into the practice safely this morning. As a result, there may be some cancellations to appointments scheduled this morning.

❄️ Weather related update for Orkney Dental Kirkwall, Stromness & Daisybank Clinic ☃️

MONDAY 5TH JANUARY

- Orkney Dental Kirkwall - OPEN for emergency care only.

- Orkney Dental Stromness - CLOSED

- Daisybank Clinic - CLOSED

Due to the adverse weather conditions and an Amber warning extending into tomorrow, our practices will not be operating as normal. The safety of both our patients and staff are our priority.

We will be covering emergency care only from our Orkney Dental Kirkwall Practice.

All routine pre-booked appointments for Monday 5th January will be rescheduled and our team will be in touch shortly with new appointment times.

Please be advised of our seasonal opening arrangements across our practices:

Daisybank Clinic:

Closed from: Tuesday 23rd December at 5pm
Reopens: Monday 5th January at 8:00am
Emergency care will be provided by Orkney Dental Kirkwall during this period.

Orkney Dental Stromness:

Closed from: Thursday 18th December at 5pm
Reopens: Tuesday 6th January at 8:00am
Emergency care will be provided by Orkney Dental Kirkwall during this period.

Orkney Dental Kirkwall:

Closed on:
• Thursday 25th December
• Friday 26th December
• Thursday 1st January
• Friday 2nd January

Open for emergency appointments:
• Monday 29th December - 8am to 5pm

NHS REGISTRATIONS - LIST REMAINS CLOSED.

Please note that our NHS list remains closed at this time.

Due to the shortage of dentists over the past few years, we still have a significant number of registered patients who require appointments. Our focus remains ensuring those patients receive the care they need before we are able to consider reopening the list. Although we have new dentists joining our practice, they will be supporting our existing patient capacity.

We understand this may be disappointing, and we truly appreciate your patience and understanding during this time. Please be assured that we are doing everything we can to increase availability and provide the highest level of care to our existing patients.
