Dental Nurse Job Opportunity

We are looking for a fully qualified dental nurse to join our growing team of exceptional dental professionals.
We are a well established, spacious, family orientated practice with excellent patient base and reputation in the area. With longstanding staff members and a friendly working environment.

This position would involve working chair side, LDU and reception duties.
Training, development and progression in the role will be available.

Must be GDC registered
Experience with Software of Excellence would be advantageous but not essential
1+ years experience
Excellent written & verbal communication skills
Passion for putting patients first

The practice provides a wide range of NHS and private dental treatments.
Full time hours / 5 days per week. No weekends.

Following today’s announcement, we just want to reassure all our patients that we will be open and operating as we have done to date.

We welcome the Chief Dental Officer’s clarification on this:

‘Essential travel includes leaving home for healthcare

Dentistry is essential healthcare

Dentistry can therefore continue in Level 4 and the revised restrictions announced by FM this afternoon

Aesthetic treatment is not essential healthcare (and not available on the NHS) and should not be undertaken’

Staff will continue to triage patients via telephone and again before entering the building if attending an appointment. You will be asked to sanitise your hands and wear a mask until in the surgery. Please only attend at your designated appointment time, to allow us to maintain social distancing in the practice.

Day 24: Skelfie asked Dentist Ben to give him one last checkup after all that sugar in December. We’ve no idea how but Skelfie got a good report, he must have read all the advice and helpful hints we’ve given you all month 🤣

When your dentist is feeling all around your teeth with their probe, they are looking for numerous different things, cracked/ loose fillings, any sticky/ discoloured areas which might indicate decay. But did you know the very dark areas people often think are bad, can be discolouration from trauma or arrested decay meaning the caries are no longer active.

Day 23: Skelfies all over this dentistry malarkey, no need for Radiography training here !

We use X-rays to check many different things in your mouth, from caries between your teeth that sometimes can’t be seen in the mouth, bone levels supporting your teeth, areas of infection around the roots of your teeth.

Day 22: Skelfie watched Dentist Ben use the intra-oral camera yesterday.... Oh my goodness!!! He’s sooo cheeky! 🍑🙈

Sometimes it’s hard to explain what’s going on with your teeth, with our intra-oral cameras we can take numerous photos from different angles (not Skelfies angles don’t worry) and when you can visualise something it’s easier to understand. If there’s something we’re keeping an eye on too it helps us monitor any changes over a period of time. It only takes a few seconds to take the photos and they are available instantly to view.

Day 21: Were the reindeers not available to take you for your Christmas shopping Skelfie? I suppose an apple caterpillar is as good as any reindeer 🤣🍏🍏🍏

We often get asked about acid erosion in the practice, how much fruit is too much. If you eat your 5 a day 🍉🍌🍓🍊🍇 and dont take too many acidic fruit juices, or water with fruits added you should be ok. Drink through a straw where possible and don’t graze, if your going to have it, eat or drink it all at once not over 2-3 hours. Also remember if you blend your fruits to smoothies the sugars increase and it becomes a sugary treat just like chocolate. If you have concerns speak to your dentist 🤍🦷

Day 18: oh Skelfie!!!! Your a wee Roaster! It’s not that kind of bleach that disinfects! 🙈🙈🙈 a wee whirlpool bath during working hours though....? You’ve got the right idea Skelfie!

Did you know that tooth whitening Is deemed to be the Act of Dentistry. So it is illegal if not carried out by a qualified and registered dental professional. In addition, if you carry out tooth whitening using this type of self-administered system, you are doing so illegally. 💁🏽‍♀️💁🏽‍♀️💁🏽‍♀️🤍🦷

Although these pop up clinics are often cheaper you have no idea if their products are what they say they are, the damage that can be done can be irreparable!
