• Attrition – wear caused by teeth grinding or clenching

• Abrasion – wear from brushing too hard or using a hard toothbrush

• Erosion – wear caused by acids (from diet or reflux)

• Abfraction – small notches or grooves at the gum line caused by stress and flexing of the tooth (often linked to biting forces or grinding)
