🪥Why are hygiene maintenance appointments important?🪥

A hygiene appointment is about much more than just having that lovely fresh feeling afterwards.

Your hygienist can help to:

🦷Remove plaque and calculus that can be difficult to remove with brushing alone
🪥Keep your gums healthy and help prevent gum disease
✨Give your teeth that clean, fresh feeling
💡Offer personalised advice on brushing and interdental cleaning
🔎Spot any areas where you might need a little extra help with your home routine

Keeping on top of your hygiene appointments, alongside good daily brushing and interdental cleaning, can make a real difference to your long-term oral health.🤩

And, of course, that lovely smooth, clean feeling afterwards is always a bonus!😁

If you’re not sure how often you should be seeing the hygienist, speak to your dentist or hygienist at your next appointment as it can vary from person to person.🦷

☀️Throwback to Lisbon!☀️

Missing the sunshine, warm weather and very different views from the practice this week!✨

Now… who can bring the Lisbon weather back to Yorkshire?☀️

🧠World Mental Health Day🧠

Today is a reminder to look after your mental health just as much as your physical health.✨

We know that visiting the dentist can feel daunting for some people and anxiety around dental treatment is more common than you might think. If you’ve been putting off an appointment because you’re nervous, embarrassed or simply not feeling ready, you’re not alone.✨

Your oral health can also have an impact on how you feel day to day, from confidence and self-esteem to being comfortable eating, smiling and talking.✨

There’s no judgement here. Whether you’re overdue a dental health check, have a dental worry you’ve been avoiding, or simply need to talk things through, we’re here to help.✨

Open Monday - Friday, 08:30am-17:15pm🦷

🍂Half Term only a few weeks away!🍂

Hasn’t it only just been the summer holidays?!😅 Somehow we’re already talking about half term!😳

If you’re starting to plan the week, it could be the perfect time to get those dental appointments booked in.🦷

If your child is due their routine dental health check, or you’ve been meaning to get an appointment sorted, give our reception team a call and we’ll be happy to help find a suitable time.✨

And if you’re heading off on a half-term adventure… don’t forget the toothbrush!🪥😉

✨Ending The Month With A Little Team Appreciation!✨

A big shoutout to our dentist, Colm and Emily, our Hygienist, following some lovely feedback from one of our patients.🥰

It’s fantastic to hear that Colm helps patients feel relaxed and at ease and that Emily made such a great first impression with her thorough and gentle approach.🦷

Creating a comfortable experience is such an important part of what we do and we’re so happy to have both of them as part of our team!🤩

☕ Coffee Lovers, This One's For You!☕

As the mornings get a little cooler, there’s nothing better than a warm cup of coffee to get you going!🍂

But did you know that coffee can contribute to tooth staining, particularly if you’re enjoying several cups throughout the day?😬

A few simple tips to help look after your smile:

🦷Try drinking water alongside your coffee
🦷Avoid adding lots of sugar or syrups where possible
🦷Don’t brush your teeth immediately after drinking acidic drinks
🦷Keep up with your regular brushing and hygiene appointments

And don't worry, we're definitely not telling you to give up your morning coffee!😂☕
