CONGRATULATIONS Steve.

Steve Bonsor, son of Mary and the late Brian Bonsor, a Hawick boy, graduated recently with a Doctor of Dental Surgery degree. His thesis entitled "The role of antimicrobial photodynamic therapy in the disinfection of the root canal system of human permanent teeth in vivo" was the culmination of over twenty years research work. It is the last doctoral degree in dentistry to be awarded at the University of Edinburgh as they have made the decision to close all of their dental programmes. Steve has worked at Teviot Dental Practice in North Bridge Street for nearly three years and, as well as working in specialist practice in Edinburgh, he is a also a clinical academic at the University of Edinburgh. He was also recently awarded a Fellowship from the Internation College of Dentists at their meeting in Milan, awarded to some 2% of dentists worldwide. He was the Chief Guest of the Common Riding in 2025.

The granddaughter (Elsie) of our owners Chris and Dave is raising funds for a super charity that provides real hair wigs for young people who suffer hair loss.

She is soon to change school, and has herself decided to cut her long hair short so it can be used.
