CORONAVIRUS UPDATE - 22 March 2020
We are writing to update you on the ongoing situation with Coronavirus and dentistry. As I am sure you are aware, the situation is continuously evolving so further changes may follow.
As of today, all appointments before 1st May 2020 are cancelled until further notice. This decision has not been taken lightly and has been decided upon following advice from the British Dental Association released this morning. As I am sure you understand the health and safety of our patients and staff has to be prioritised over anything else. As of yet, we do not know when a normal service will resume but will of course up date you when things change.
Appointments that are affected include, but are not limited to, check-ups, hygienist, fillings, root canal treatment, crowns, bridges, veneers, whitening, Invisalign & fixed braces.
If you have an existing emergency appointment booked please do not attend without calling reception beforehand to confirm.
It is important for you to know that we will be offering existing patients an emergency only service in order to reduce the strain on A&E and other NHS services. This will operate as follows:
1. Phone reception who will triage your appointment.
2. If necessary, your details will be taken and passed to one of our dentists who will call you to discuss your problem.
3. Only then, if deemed appropriate by the dentist, will an appointment be made.
** Please do not attend the practice without an appointment or without telephone confirmation on the day as you will be turned away **
We understand this will cause frustration for many however we hope you understand our reasoning. Please be patient with our staff as we are in an unprecedented situation and we are all trying our best to look after everyone.
Please stay safe & well.
Best wishes,
Sam Reid & Bill Powell
