Dentures - False Teeth at Clent Dental Care

What is a Denture? A removable denture replaces missing teeth. 'Partial' dentures replace a few missing teeth and 'full' dentures are needed if all the natural teeth are missing. Dentures are made of plastic and sometimes metal as well to make them strong and less bulky.

What are the benefits of Dentures and what to expect? If you have lost some teeth, dentures can improve the way you look, bite, chew and speak. They are custom-made to match your mouth and can be made to look as natural as possible. You will be able to chew more efficiently. The teeth that are left are protected from wear and tear. Without dentures, the natural teeth may move or tilt, stopping you teeth biting together properly.

Dentures can be fitted straight after teeth have been taken out so that nobody will know that you have had a tooth out. These are called 'immediate' dentures. Dentures will never feel like your own teeth and it can take time to get used to them. If you haven't had a denture before, the dentist will want to explain the benefits and difficulties of wearing them.

We are now able to offer a more stable solution to those suffering from problems with loose dentures. Some Patients are able to have Implant Retained Dentures. Here you may have one or two more Implants (permanent root replacements) and attach the denture to these so that it is fixed in place.

What is a Root Canal? Endodontics is root canal therapy. Teeth are held into the jaw by roots. Front teeth normally have one root but teeth further back have more. At the core of each tooth is a soft mass of tissue called pulp. In a healthy tooth the pulp contains living fibres, nerves and a blood supply, extending into the root(s) through the canal(s). Decay or injury can destroy the living pulp. Because dead pulp lacks a blood supply, it is more probe to infection, leading hence to an abscess and toothache. Root canal treatment, also known as root filling or Endodontics means removing damage or dead pulp and filling the space left.

The remaining tooth can then be repaired.

What is a Tooth Extraction? It is the removal of the tooth from its socket in the bone.

What to expect? It is relatively quick procedure, using local anaesthetic. You should not feel pain from the procedure but you will feel pressure. The dentist will use forceps, grasp the tooth and gently rock it back and forth to loosen it. After the procedure you will be given an aftercare leaflet.

PRGF (plasma rich growth factors) offered here at Clent Dental Care! Fantastic results for the regeneration and thickening of thinning hair. This treatment stops hair loss progression, promotes hair regrowth and strengthens remaining hair.
The science behind it:
if you suffer hair loss you have chronic inflammation in the dermal papilla and PRGF is amazingly anti inflammatory
PRGF improves the blood supply and oxygenation of the hair follicle as when there is reduced oxygenation at the hair follicle testosterone is converted to dihydrotestosterone which causes hair loss
