Replacing a fractured or missing Front tooth with something that is both functionally strong and natural in appearance is always fun challenge as it often is about taking into things like symmetry, colour, shape of the adjacent teeth, as well as the shape of a patients jaw.
..And then it has to be longlasting!

Here the tooth was extracted, an implant placed with bone and gum grafting and an implant crown. The adjacent tooth had composite bonding completed to correct the proportions.

The procedure is painless barring soreness for a couple of days following, which generally heals quickly with patients usually back to their usual diets within 7 days.

Replacing a failing front tooth can be a challenging task. From regrowing lost bone, to carefully positioning an implant at the right height and angulation,and finally to making sure it tailors in with the individual's natural teeth- there are quite a few stages that must be completed!

At the same time, overcoming each of these challenges just makes the final outcome that much more rewarding :)

This gentlemen was referred to me to see what could be done after having increasing difficulities chewing his food.

After considering the pattern of on going toothless we decided upon removal of the remaining lower teeth, recontouring of the lower jaw bone and placement of 4 dental implants with bone grafting- in a single surgery.

Following this we progressed to a lower fixed implant prosthesis, which is screwed onto the implants giving him back his chewing ability.

We also completed a new upper denture, who says you can't have function as well as looks!
