Over 5.5 million people in Liberia have virtually no access to dental care. As one of the world’s few countries without dental training facilities, Liberia has only seven qualified dentists serving the entire population, alongside a handful of practitioners with limited qualifications. Twelve of the country’s fifteen counties have no dental services whatsoever—a public health crisis that demands urgent action.
At Market Place Dental, we’re privileged to provide excellent dental care to our community in Great Dunmow. We recognise how fortunate we are compared to the desperate situation in Liberia, and we want to help make a difference.
This Christmas, our practice is hosting a Christmas Jumper Day to raise funds for the Liberia Dental Therapy School. By supporting the training of dental therapists in Liberia, we can help build sustainable dental healthcare for millions of people who currently have nowhere to turn.
