No, we are not promoting the highly-marketed Dyson toothbrush!!

Buy it of course, if you love your toys, but your traditional electric toothbrush costing approximately £40 to £70, is doing a perfectly good job, as long as you brush twice a day, for two minutes, using good technique. If you're unsure about technique, have a chat with your dentist the next time you're in the surgery.

Dyson has launched its first toothbrush: the Dyson CameraJet. It brushes, flosses and mouth-washes in one, with the help of a camera (that you can also pair with a smartphone app).

Absolutely no judgement here. We get huge satisfaction from transforming a reluctant patient into one who trusts us with their dental health. To anyone feeling worried, embarrassed or just plain terrified, please take the first step and get in touch.

🇺🇸Sometimes, the most meaningful thing you do as a dentist isn’t the procedure itself.

It’s changing how someone feels about dentistry.

For some patients, sitting in the dental chair means years of fear, anxiety, embarrassment, or difficult experiences.

They may have avoided the dentist for years because they were afraid of pain, judgment, or simply not knowing what to expect.

And then they meet you.

You take the time to listen.
You explain what you’re doing.
You don’t judge them.
You give them control and reassurance.
You show them that a dental appointment doesn’t have to be something they fear.

Maybe they won’t remember every instrument you used or every technical detail of their treatment.

But they may remember that you made them feel safe.
And sometimes, that changes everything.

Because good dentistry isn’t only about restoring teeth.

It’s also about restoring trust.

If one patient leaves your office feeling a little less afraid than when they walked in, you’ve already made a difference that goes far beyond the chair.

Following on from our last post, the government has confirmed that new laws banning the sale of high-caffeine energy drinks to under-16s will come into force by April 2027.

During a hot spell, many of us drink more cold sugary drinks than normal. To protect your teeth, try to alternate drinks with water, and wait 30 to 60 minutes before brushing. Sugar and acid temporarily soften your tooth enamel, and brushing immediately can scrub away this vulnerable layer. Instead, rinse your mouth with water right away to wash away sugar and neutralize the acid.
