Our wonderful Dentist- Megan Thompson

Since joining the practice in 2025 as our Vocational Trainee, Megan has shown to be an enthusiastic, dedicated and a hard-working dentist who has adapted to the team exceptionally.

Megan’s professionalism, along with her calm and attentive approach, earned her a permanent associate position within the practice following her vocational training year. She looks forward to expanding her skills in restorative dentistry.

In her downtime, Megan enjoys baking, taking part in a weekly pub quiz, playing the bagpipes, and spending quality time with her family including her pet cats Piper and Milo.

Our lovely associate dentist Francesca Blair.

A compassionate and highly skilled dentist with a passion for restorative care, she combines a keen eye for detail with a strong commitment to personalized treatment. She specializes in helping patients rebuild their smiles using the latest techniques and advanced treatments.

Now qualified in advanced aesthetic treatments, Francesca brings her dental precision and attention to detail into aesthetics, delivering refined, natural enhancements.

Away from the clinic, Francesca enjoys walking her Cockapoo Gus, reading her kindle in the sun and traveling the world. A previous football player for St. Mirren, she likes to stay fit now by going runs and weight lifting in the gym. She is currently training for the Malaga marathon in November and is looking forward to becoming a bride in 2027

Introducing our amazing Dental Hygienist, Claire Gallagher who believes it is important that patients are comfortable during treatment and her main objective is to encourage the highest standard in personal dental hygiene whilst ensuring patients have a positive experience when visiting her.

Over the recent years there has been a growing interest in overall wellbeing, and it now appears that the relationship between general health and oral health work together. Issues like poor nutrition, smoking, obesity can effect your teeth and gums, in turn poor dental health can affect your overall health.

When she’s not working, Claire enjoys taking her dog Buddy for walks, going to the gym, exploring new cities, and spending quality time with her family.

Introducing the boss man - Dr Colin Freer.

From 2007, Colin has been a big part in the Stepps Ahead dental team, progressing from an associate to eventually taking over the practice by 2008.

Colin qualified as Implantologist at BAIRD Leeds (British Academy of Implant Restorative Dentistry) in 2021, he also has an interest in cosmetic procedures like Bridges, Crowns, Composite bonding and Invisalign etc as well as for the last 15 years also mentoring newly graduated Dental students on their Vocational training year.

Away from the Practice Colin looks forward to going down to Millport, Rollerblading, has recently taking up sailing lessons and spending time with his pet bearded dragon Pablo.
