You may have heard that the Scottish Government made an announcement that from 1 November 2020, dental practices in Scotland will be able to start to provide the normal range of NHS dental treatments.
Following this, the Chief Dental Officer of Scotland wrote to NHS dentists recognising that we will not be in a position to return to pre-COVID levels of patient numbers due to current health protection measures. We will be required to prioritise those patients that are requiring urgent care appointments, those at the greatest risk of oral disease and the backlog of patients from during the ‘lockdown’. This is not business as usual.
Please remember that we are all still in the midst of a pandemic. Our main priority will continue to be the safety of our patients and staff, as well as the public in general. By maintaining the highest standards of health and safety and infection control, we can reduce the risk of COVID-19. Basically this means that we cannot see the usual numbers of patients as we may still have to leave the surgery empty, possibly for an hour, after some appointments.
Over the next period of time, we will be prioritising those patients that need access
to dental services and this may mean unfortunately a further wait for some patients until more “routine” appointments can be offered. Routine checkups may be some way off unfortunately.
This is not business as usual for dentistry and will not be for some time to come.
Please be assured that at Kings Park Dental, our aim is to provide you with
the best level of dental service in the safest way possible.
PLEASE DO NOT JUST TURN UP FOR AN APPOINTMENT AS THE DOOR WILL BE LOCKED. YOU MUST PHONE IN ADVANCE TO BE TRIAGED. If you are having any problems, contact us on 0141-636-6330 and we are ready to help.
Please share this information with anybody else that attends the practice
Thank you for your patience.
