Today the Scottish Government announced that dental practices will be allowed to reopen from Monday 22nd June. Our team has been working hard to make the necessary changes within the practice to enable social distancing and make the practice as safe as possible for both patients and staff.

When we open on June 29th it will be to provide NHS emergency care only, as per the guidelines for Phase 2 transition out of lockdown. We will also be restricted as to the number of patients we are able to see per day, therefore we must ask that you only contact the practice if you have a serious dental emergency.

The Scottish Government have still prohibited us from carrying out any ‘aerosol generating procedures’ (which includes treatment such as fillings, scaling and root canal treatment) on the NHS. We will be able to provide these treatments on a private basis, or can refer severe cases to an Urgent Dental Care Centre.

We understand that many patients are eager to continue with treatment that was planned before the lockdown. We really appreciate your patience and understanding at this difficult time, and as soon as we are given permission to carry out non-urgent treatment, we will make it known.
