Meet Dr Ross Pencovich

Dr Ross Pencovich is a dentist with a particular interest in orthodontics, Invisalign and aesthetic dentistry. He graduated from the University of Glasgow in 2016 with a Bachelor of Dental Surgery.

After graduating, Ross completed several years of postgraduate training, gaining experience across orthodontics, restorative dentistry and facial surgery, including treating more complex cases. He has also undertaken further training in Invisalign and fixed orthodontic appliances.

Ross is known for taking a friendly, reassuring and patient-focused approach, with an emphasis on explaining treatment clearly and helping patients feel involved in decisions about their smile. Patient reviews of his work at Shawlands Dental Care frequently mention his approachable manner and the time he takes to explain treatment.

Outside dentistry, Ross has a varied background and has previously worked as a wedding piper and mountaineering instructor. He also enjoys keeping active, walking his spaniels and rock climbing.

🦷 Meet the Team – Dr Omar Iqbal 👋

At Shawlands Dental Care, we’re proud to have Dr Omar Iqbal as part of our team.

Omar is known for his calm, reassuring approach, making him especially popular with nervous and anxious patients. He is highly experienced in providing dental sedation, helping even the most phobic patients feel comfortable and confident throughout their treatment.

With extensive experience in oral surgery and a special interest in dental implants, Omar has dedicated his career to replacing missing teeth and restoring smiles. His implant training began in 2011 with an 18-month programme at the University of Sheffield, followed by advanced training at the world-renowned Brånemark Institute in South Africa and the Malo Clinic in Portugal.

In 2018, Omar completed a three-year Master’s degree in Dental Implantology with Merit at the University of Bristol. Since then, he has also worked as a postgraduate supervisor at the University of Bristol, helping to train the next generation of implant dentists.
