UPDATE 19/6/2020
In line with stage 2 of the Scottish Governments lockdown easing, from the 22/6/20 we are able to open for urgent care only.
The Government has stipulated that only certain types of treatment are undertaken, and these are very limited. We are unable to use our drills, and therefore not able to do normal fillings, or root treatments. NO routine care is currently allowed.
We are still available, as we have been through the whole lockdown period, on the phones – if you have a dental problem please call 01416320109 and we will try to help. This may still involve advice on self help measures, possible prescriptions or onward referral to the Urgent Care Hubs set up by the Health Board.
Covid-19 is still a problem, we will ask you repeatedly if you are exhibiting symptoms of a new cough, fever or loss/change in sense of taste/smell. If you are – you must NOT come into the surgery – but let us know and we can arrange a more appropriate referral for any dental problems you may have.
If we are able to help you, we will arrange an appointment here, but your experience will be different than you are used to:
• Entry to the building will be by appointment only.
• You should wait outside in your car, and phone to let us know you have arrived. Only ring the doorbell if you are unable to get through on the phones.
• You should arrive for your appointment on time, but definitely not more than 5 minutes early or more than 5 minutes late. We are sorry, but we will not be able to accommodate either. The waiting room is not open for use.
• There will be no toilet facilities
• You are asked to come alone, unless the accompanying adult is essential (one parent/carer/comforter)
• Do not bring any personal belongings – no newspapers, no bags. There will be no costs during this phase – you don’t need to bring a purse.
• You will be met at the front door by a member of staff in full PPE and directed to a sink to wash your hands thoroughly. The dentist will also already have on full PPE – don’t worry, its still the same old us underneath it all, but it may appear more impersonal than usual.
• After any treatment you will again be directed to a sink to wash your hands and guided to exit.

If you develop any Covid symptoms within 7 days of your appointment you should phone to let us know.
Our infection control measures have always been excellent, but these enhanced touches are to keep you and our staff safe.

We are here to help, so if you have any problems please contact us on 01416320109.

24/3/20 (pm) - Covid19 update
Due to the coronavirus outbreak and in accordance with instructions from Scottish Government and the Chief Dental Officer, all dental practices are now closed to all patients.
All appointments are cancelled.
If you are having a problem a dentist will be available to offer advice only on the telephone on 0141 632 0109 and we can arrange onward referral for severe problems.

Out of hours:
Greater Glasgow and Clyde Health Board are organising an emergency clinic although only patients with severe symptoms of infection, bleeding or trauma will be seen for emergency dental treatment at the present time. If this applies please contact NHS24 on 111

We still encourage everyone to follow Government advice to stay indoors and hope that you all remain safe and well.

24/3/20 - Covid-19 update
The Chief Dental Officer and Scottish Government have now asked all routine dentistry to stop.
At this moment we are unable to see exams, continue dentures, clean teeth etc.

We are still available for serious emergency care, and if you are in need of this please phone the practice on 0141 632 0109, however the service we provide is extremely limited.

Appointments will be by prior arrangement only.
We have hand sanitiser at the entrance and reception for you to wash your hands before entry which you must use.

Again, if you or anyone in your household has had Coronavirus symptoms (new cough, fever) in the last 14 days, then you should not attend the practice for any care at all. We can arrange onward referral to specialist care if required.

We would encourage all our patients to follow the government advice regarding staying indoors, and hope everyone remains safe and well!

Important practice update regarding Covid-19

All dental practices across Scotland have been informed as of Wed 18th March, that we will be severely limited in the dental treatment we provide.
Any dental equipment that uses water and creates a spray has been banned unless a dental emergency.
As you can imagine this will prevent many treatments being carried out - fillings/crowns/root treatments.
Scaling will still be carried out using hand instruments.

If you have an appointment booked for any treatment, could you please phone practice reception on 0141 632 0109.

We are still open for toothaches, check ups, scale/polishes, and denture work for people who do not have symptoms, and where no-one else in their household does either.

Patients in the vulnerable groups (ie over 70 or with conditions which would normally require the yearly flu jab) should not attend routine appointment, unless suffering from pain.

We will try to contact you before any scheduled appointments to check if you have symptoms.

Our protocols regarding cross infection are rigorous as they always have been.

These measures are passed down from Scotland Chief Dental Officer in order to protect patients and staff. We have no choice but to follow them.

This situation is likely to change over the coming days/weeks/months and we will try to keep you updated.

Our staff will be working during normal working hours and will be able to answer questions but please phone 0141 632 0109 or email [email protected]
rather than coming into the building, unless you have an appointment.

If you are attending an appointment you could phone to let us know you have arrived. We would then contact you back when the dentist is ready to see you, this avoiding unnecessary waiting in the building.

If you could pass on this information to the wider community especially to people you feel may not be online.

Thanks for your understanding in this difficult time. We hope to be back treating you and your families as normal soon.
