Our latest makeover is complete!

We’ve been busy giving our new Treatment Coordinator (TCO) room a bit of a transformation, and we’re so pleased with how it has turned out!

We wanted to create a space that feels calm, welcoming and a little less clinical – somewhere you can sit comfortably, have a chat, ask questions and talk through your dental care and treatment options with our team.

One of the nicest parts of working at Wickham Dental Practice is seeing our patients grow in confidence and gain happy, healthy smiles.

What a week!

It's certainly felt like summer has arrived this week, and we hope you've managed to stay cool and enjoy the sunshine.

A gentle reminder that keeping well hydrated is just as good for your mouth as it is for the rest of your body. Water helps keep your mouth comfortable, supports healthy saliva flow and is always the best choice for your teeth.

If you've been enjoying plenty of ice creams, iced coffees or cold drinks and noticed your teeth feeling a little sensitive, don't ignore it. Tooth sensitivity can often be treated, and we'd be happy to help.

Can you spot the tooth-friendly foods?

Diet and nutrition are a huge part of maintaining a healthy smile, and in dentistry we're always talking about the impact that sugars – especially hidden sugars – can have on our teeth.

Our dental nurse, Vicki, has created this fantastic game to help children think about which foods are kinder to their teeth and gums while making oral health education fun and engaging.

Vicki is currently completing her Oral Health Educator training, and we can't wait to see how she uses her new skills and resources to support our younger patients in developing healthy habits for life.

After all, learning about oral health doesn't have to be boring!

Hello June!

A new month is the perfect time for a quick smile check.

Ask yourself:

Am I brushing twice a day with fluoride toothpaste?
Am I cleaning between my teeth every day?
Have I changed my toothbrush or brush head in the last 3 months?
Am I up to date with my dental examinations?
Have I noticed any bleeding gums, sensitivity or other changes?

Good luck to our lovely team member Steph who is taking part in the London to Brighton Ultra Challenge this weekend in aid of the British Heart Foundation ❤️

We are all wishing her the very best - although we think she may be very grateful for the Bank Holiday Monday recovery time afterwards!

The practice will reopen as normal from 8.30am on Tuesday 26th May.

We hope all our patients have a wonderful Bank Holiday weekend and don’t forget to stay safe in the sun!
