🦷 Implant training at Walldane!

Last week, we welcomed Kirsty from Wrights Dental, who spent the afternoon with our nursing team getting them ready for an exciting new chapter at the practice!

The session covered all things implant dentistry, with a particular focus on aseptic technique, setting up for implant surgery, surgical assisting and the important role our dental nurses play throughout the implant journey.

There’s lots happening behind the scenes as we prepare to introduce dental implants at Walldane in the New Year, allowing us to offer even more treatment options to our patients right here at the practice.

A big thank you to Kirsty for such an informative and hands-on afternoon — and to our nursing team for getting stuck in! 🦷✨

🚨 WHEELIE BAD NEWS 🚨

We arrived this morning to discover that our poor wheelie bin has met a rather unfortunate end. 🗑️🔥

Quite frankly, we’re burning with rage.

We don’t want to trash talk anyone, but we’re now on the hunt for the piece of rubbish responsible.

The police have bin informed.
The investigation is wheelie underway.
And we refuse to let this go to waste.

RIP Binjamin.
What a waste.

🦷 Meet the Team – Carla Haldane
Carla graduated from the University of Glasgow in 2019 and has been part of the practice since 2020.
She has since completed a Postgraduate Diploma in Advanced Aesthetic and Restorative Dentistry, developing a particular interest in minimally invasive dentistry and achieving natural-looking cosmetic results.
Alongside restorative dentistry, Carla provides facial aesthetic treatments, including dermal fillers and consultations for the treatment of lines and wrinkles. When she returns, she also plans to expand the treatments available at the practice to include skin boosters, microneedling, chemical peels and polynucleotide treatments.
Carla is currently completing a Postgraduate Certificate in Dental Implantology and plans to introduce dental implants at the practice in 2027.
She is presently on maternity leave, enjoying precious time with her baby boy, Jenson. However, she remains very much involved behind the scenes and plans to return to the practice in early 2027.
Outside of dentistry, Carla enjoys playing tennis at Falkirk Lawn Tennis Club, swimming, baking and spending time with her family.
We’re sure many of our patients will look forward to welcoming her back! 🤍

We’re often asked, “How can I get rid of the staining on my teeth?” 🦷✨
Surface staining is incredibly common and is often caused by tannins in our diet — particularly from things like tea, coffee and red w**e. Smoking also causes the build up of tannins. Over time, these pigments can build up on the surface of the teeth and can be difficult to remove with brushing alone.
That’s why we’ve recently introduced Air Flow stain removal at Walldane Dental.
Air Flow uses a powerful but controlled stream of air, warm water and fine powder to gently lift away surface staining and plaque — helping teeth look visibly cleaner and brighter, while keeping the treatment as comfortable as possible.
It’s a great option if you’re bothered by staining but don’t necessarily want to whiten the natural colour of your teeth — sometimes removing the surface staining is all that’s needed to make a noticeable difference.

There’s nothing quite like a bit of sunshine to show up the weeds… and let’s be honest, they were starting to bother us! 🌞🌿

We know many of our patients are keen gardeners, so we’re sure a few of you were noticing them too. A little de-weeding and tidy-up has made such a difference, and we’re really pleased with how much brighter and more welcoming the front of the practice looks.
