Despite the weather not quite being on par today, we were delighted to sponsor a hole at Glenbervie’s annual golf day in support of the incredible work carried out by Strathcarron Hospice.

Well done to everyone involved for braving the rain and helping raise support for such an important local charity. We know many of our patients and community members will have seen first-hand the care, compassion and support that Strathcarron Hospice provides to families across the area.

✨ Some of our patients coming in for whitening, aligner treatment, crowns, bridges, retainers or gum shields may already have spotted our new Medit i900 scanner in use at the practice!

At the end of today, we took the opportunity to let our nursing team have some hands-on practice scanning each other’s teeth so everyone can become familiar and confident with the new technology. 🦷

The scanner allows us to work completely impression free in many cases — no more traditional moulds and putty for lots of treatments. Instead, we can create fast, accurate digital scans of your teeth which can be securely recorded and saved as part of your dental records.

This technology helps improve comfort, accuracy and efficiency for treatments including:
• Whitening trays
• Clear aligners
• Crowns & bridges
• Retainers
• Gum shields

We’re excited to continue bringing new technology into the practice to improve our patients’ experience and treatment outcomes. ✨

🦷 This afternoon we closed the practice to complete our mandatory CPR and medical emergency training.

Regular training is an important part of maintaining the highest standards of patient care and ensures our whole team remains confident, prepared and up to date with current guidance.

Although medical emergencies in dental practice are rare, being ready to respond quickly and effectively is an essential part of providing safe care for our patients.

We’re proud to invest time in ongoing training and development so that we can continue to provide the best possible care for our patients.

🏛️ A Little Piece of History at Walldane Dental

As we continue to make improvements to the practice, we’ve been reflecting on the history of the building itself — something many of our patients may not be aware of.

The property was once home to the Blackadder family here in Falkirk. Elizabeth Blackadder, the renowned Scottish artist who later became Dame Elizabeth Blackadder, created the beautiful stained glass feature that still sits proudly at our front door today.

It’s a small but special detail that connects the building to its past, and one we’re proud to preserve as part of the practice.

While we continue to modernise and improve the space, it’s important to us to respect the character and history that make it unique.

Next time you visit, take a moment to have a look at the stained glass — it’s a lovely piece of local heritage right here at the practice 💙

🦷 Welcoming New Patients

We are pleased to be welcoming new patients to Walldane Dental with Dr Edward Waller, one of our Principal Dentists.

Edward graduated from the University of Glasgow and has continued his postgraduate training with a focus on teeth straightening (orthodontics) and digital dentistry.

He has completed a Postgraduate Diploma in Clinical Orthodontics and is currently completing a Master’s degree in Clinical Orthodontics.

Edward provides a range of treatments including:

✔ Routine NHS dental care
✔ Private dental care
✔ Teeth straightening with clear aligners
✔ Fixed brace (orthodontic) treatments

With the introduction of in-house teeth straightening services, we’re now able to provide more comprehensive care within the practice.

Edward is currently available for appointments on Tuesdays and Wednesdays.

Whether you’re looking for general dental care or are considering straightening your teeth, he would be happy to help.

Seeing the Walldane Dental name go up on the building this week has been a very proud moment for us.

Our new signage is now installed at 6 Weir Street, marking the beginning of an exciting new chapter for the practice.

While our name and look have evolved, what remains the same is just as important:

✔️ Continued NHS care
✔️ Ongoing investment in modern dentistry

Taking ownership of the practice is something we’re incredibly proud of, and we’re committed to continuing to provide high-quality, patient-focused care for our community here in Falkirk.

🛠️ Excuse Our Appearance

You may notice a few changes around the practice at the moment as we continue improving our reception and waiting areas.

We’re currently part way through renovations, including updates to flooring, décor and other improvements designed to create a more comfortable and modern environment for our patients.

As the practice remains fully operational, we’re carrying out these works gradually so that we can continue to see patients with minimal disruption.

Behind the scenes, we’re also preparing to introduce some new equipment and technology to the practice — which we’re excited to share with you very soon.

We are now closed for the Festive season and will reopen 8.30am on Monday 5th January.

A triage service is available 2-4 on Christmas Eve. Please phone the practice for details.

On December 25th,26th,27th,28th, January 1st, 2nd, 3rd and 4th, if you have a genuine dental emergency, please phone NHS 24 on 111.

We will be running by appointment, emergency clinics between the Stenhousemuir and Falkirk practices on December 29th,30th and 31st. Please phone between 9-9.30 for a morning appointment and 2-2:30 for an afternoon appointment.

The Stenhousemuir practice is open on the morning of 29th,30th and afternoon of the 31st.
