We have an opportunity to welcome a Laboratory Assistant to our team at Zenith Dental Laboratory Exeter Devon. This role could potentially become a position of Trainee Dental Technician with in house training and one day per week at Yeovil College to qualify as a Registered Dental Technician with the General Dental Council.

This is a great chance for a school or college leaver to begin a career in dentistry and become part of the Dental Team producing state of the art life changing prosthesis for our client’s patients across the country using both 3D Digital technology and traditional techniques.

Very challenging and rewarding case this one. Took a lot of planning and ex*****on. Patient presented matxillectomy and exenteration. First challenge was the amazing double impresion technique followed by working out how to cast the impression. Double obturators were then made to create seal and fill the defect areas. Magnets used to attach obturators together. long term a denture will be made on the maxilla obturator and prosthetic eye will be made utilising the acrylic base stucture.

This case arrived with a 3D scanned and printed model of maxilla and mandible in one piece. Patient suffers from severe trismus so impressions were not possible. Request was for a gingival veneer with teeth so patient could clip denture into position when in public places purely for aesthetics. Look through the images to see how we managed to achieve the final result.
