NEW CASE STUDY👉 Restoring Confidence Through GuidedSMILE

From severely compromised dentition to definitive FP3 zirconia restorations.

Dr Nik Patel shares a dual arch rehabilitation case using GuidedSMILE, where prosthetically driven digital planning and guided implant placement were central to the treatment approach.

Following guided implant placement, the RAPID Appliance was used to facilitate immediate provisionalisation in both arches.

The case progressed to definitive FP3 zirconia bridges, fitted without the need for occlusal adjustments.

At the six-month review, the patient reported a significant improvement in confidence and quality of life.

Quoris3D Top Tip 👉 Getting Your Dual Scan Right First Time🤌

Two issues we regularly see with dual-scan submissions are incomplete relining and movement of the scanning appliance during the scan.

1⃣ Incomplete relining
The denture has only been partially relined, creating large air gaps and preventing it from being fully seated against the soft tissue.

2⃣ Movement during scanning
The scanning appliance has been captured in an open-bite position and has dropped away from the soft tissue, resulting in inaccurate scan data.
In both situations, the data is compromised and planning cannot progress.

Before scanning, ensure the denture is fully relined, completely seated against the soft tissue and maintained in the correct position throughout the scan.

Getting the records right first time helps avoid repeat scans and unnecessary delays to planning.

FP1 is a major talking point in full arch dentistry right now💪

In September, we delivered our first Getting Started with GuidedSMILE Natural course at The L.S. Browne Centre, bringing clinicians together for two days focused on the clinical considerations and workflow behind FP1 treatment.

From case assessment and restoratively led planning to hands-on learning and live FP1 surgery, the course provided a practical introduction to GuidedSMILE Natural and the steps involved in planning and delivering suitable FP1 cases.

Great to have Dr James Oliphant among the clinicians joining us for our first dedicated FP1 course.

GuidedSMILE Case Study👇✨

A complex restorative case requiring careful management of vertical dimension, function and facial support.

Dr Balaji Rajamani used GuidedSMILE to plan and deliver an upper fixed full arch rehabilitation for a patient presenting with a compromised dentition, significant anterior proclination and bone loss.

With the intended final restoration guiding treatment planning, the case followed a structured workflow from assessment and guided surgery through to the final restoration.
