Are dental implants painful? 🤕

During the dental implant procedure you will be completely numb as we will give you a gentle local anaesthetic. Whilst the implant is being placed, it's very similar to having a filling, there will be no pain whatsoever although the treatment will be longer.

Do dental implants hurt afterwards?
Pain after a dental implant is usually very mild and is often better described as discomfort. Most patients find that over-the-counter painkillers work perfectly to relieve any discomfort following the placement of dental implants.

There is no upper age limit for dental implants, the deciding factor is how good your current oral health is, are you prepared to look after your dental implants and how willing are you to clean your teeth around the implants?

There is now for no dental implant age factor, it's more to do with dental health.

Because dental implants are a high-tech treatment they require regular maintenance, very much like if you were to purchase a high-performance car, you couldn't just leave it and would need to have it regularly maintained… Dental implants are the same.

The price of dental implants is often a concern for many patients. The cost can be high for dental implants as it is a high-tech advanced treatment which requires additional training by your dentist.

An important consideration with dental implants is that treatment should never go ahead unless the dental implant dentist is confident that the treatment will last for many years.

Dental implants are not cheap. It's true.
A single dental implant usually start at around £3000.

Yes, we could make them cheaper.
But if we did that, they'd be cheap.

They wouldn't last as long as they do.
They wouldn't be manufactured by one of the best dental implant companies in the world.
They wouldn't be perfectly tailored for you, your needs and requirements.
They wouldn't be placed by one of the most highly qualified dentists.

The primary contraindication for dental implants is for people that are unable to clean the implants themselves or people taking certain intravenous drugs or going through extensive medical care.
