Karen qualified as a Dental Hygienist from Edinburgh School of Dental Hygiene in 1988, her passion for oral health shines through in her work. She's been an invaluable addition to our team at New Town Dental Care since 2021, effortlessly connecting with our amazing patients.

When she's not brightening smiles, Karen loves exploring the outdoors, especially through long walks. In 2021, she even conquered her first virtual Kiltwalk, showing her commitment to both personal challenges and charitable causes.

Meet Derek our Partner & Dentist!

Derek, a graduate since 1997, has been a key part of New Town Dental Care since 2006, bringing extensive experience in all aspects of General Dentistry. His career has taken him to diverse locations like Dumbarton and Dubai, making him well-versed in a wide range of dental issues.

Derek stands as one of the UK's most experienced providers of oral appliances for treating obstructive sleep apnoea and snoring. Currently pursuing a Post Graduate Certificate with the British Society of Dental Sleep Medicine, he stays at the forefront of advancements in the field.

Outside the dental world, Derek, when time and his teenage children allow, can occasionally be found explaining why another golf ball has missed the fairway.
