Dr Louise O’Dowd put it plainly: periodontal disease is the sixth most common non-communicable disease in the world, affecting more than a billion people. If there is a relationship between periodontal disease and conditions such as diabetes and cardiovascular disease, surely there is a combined benefit in treating and managing it.⭐

A brilliant day at Edinburgh Zoo on Friday the 2nd October.⭐

Our speakers took us through the links between periodontal health, menopause, neurodiversity, stress and wellbeing. Then the rangers showed us round and we got to meet some lovely wee animals. The meet and greet gave everyone a chance to take a breath and see the zoo from a side most visitors don’t 🦛

A brilliant day at Edinburgh Zoo last Friday for Periodontal Health: Looking Beyond the Smile.

Together we explored periodontics from a wider perspective - looking beyond the mouth and considering the connections between periodontal health, menopause, neurodiversity, stress and wider wellbeing.

And of course, there was time to step outside for a ranger tour and some very special animal encounters! 🦛

Our 2026 Refer and Restore class graduated.🎓

Across five sessions they heard from specialists and got hands on with the TRI matrix implant system, learning how to digitally restore a single implant crown. They saw what that changes for their workflow and their patients. A brilliant group to teach and we cannot wait to see the cases they restore.

Last weekend Dr David Treagus took us through a two day course in predictable endodontics, covering diagnosis, case selection, shaping, obturation and re-root canal treatment, with live demonstrations and hands on practice across a range of tooth anatomies.

Two days of evidence-based teaching, live demonstrations, and genuine hands-on practice across a range of tooth anatomies. Small groups. A structured approach you can actually take back into practice on Monday morning.

You'll leave knowing how to diagnose with confidence, select and assess the right cases, prepare and obturate predictably, manage complications when they arise.
