Did you know that October is National Oral Hygiene Month? It's the perfect time to remind ourselves of the importance of keeping our smiles healthy! Here are some tips to help you maintain excellent oral hygiene:
🎇 Brush Twice a Day: Make sure to use fluoride toothpaste and brush for at least 2 minutes!
🎇 Floss Daily: Don't forget to floss! It helps remove food particles and plaque from between your teeth.
🎇 Visit your dentist for regular check-ups
🎇Eat a balanced diet rich in fruits and veggies
🎇Stay hydrated and drink plenty of water

How long does teeth straightening treatment take? 🕐

Depending on your orthodontic needs, treatments with braces may take between 6-30 months to complete, more complex cases could take longer, but this will all be explained when your treatment plan is put together.

Your treatment also can’t start until the correct number of adult teeth are present in your mouth and providing your mouth is healthy enough to receive your treatment.

The NHS approval process is taking longer than normal as they work through the pandemic backlog.
Whilst some cases are approved very quickly, it is not uncommon for it to take up to 18 weeks for us to receive a decision.
We will continue to let you know as soon as you case is approved, or declined, for treatment.
If you have been waiting more than 20 weeks, please contact us by email.

While some cases are approved very quickly, it is not uncommon for approvals to take up to 18 weeks. We will continue to let you know as soon as your case is approved , or declined, for NHS funding.

Following Nicola Sturgeon’s announcement of further restrictions from 3rd January, we can confirm that you are still able to travel for healthcare. We intend to honour all scheduled appointments.

We appreciate that our clinical team will have the same childcare pressures as everyone else. If we need to reschedule any specific appointments, we will be in contact with you directly by text, email or phone.

As before, we will be asking anyone accompanying the patient to remain outside the practice where possible. If it is your first appointment, or your child is young or very anxious, please discuss this with our “door colleague” upon arrival. Dress warm and bring a brolly!☂️ 🌧
