Practice Update:

We are delighted to confirm that Mr Godfrey is now back on the dental register and able to practise again.

Due to the significant backlog of treatment that had to be postponed, our workload remains extremely high. Appointments will therefore be prioritised based on clinical need.

Please note the following:

* All treatment appointments, children’s examinations, and scheme-based examinations (e.g. Denplan) are going ahead

* Adult NHS examination appointments are postponed and will be rearranged from April onwards. You can call to book this now.

So to clarify if you are over 18 and a NHS patient with an exam appointment booked before April this is cancelled.

* If you have outstanding treatment that has previously been postponed, you can call to rearrange this now.

We kindly ask patients to only call if necessary to keep the phone lines free for patients needing to book in.

Keep an eye out for further updates, as arrangements may change while we work through the backlog.

The practice is open daily from 9:00am.

PRACTICE UPDATE

We are open Mondays and Fridays 9am-3pm ONLY until further notice, ALL routine and treatment appoitments are cancelled.

We would like to inform patients that the practice is currently only able to accommodate emergency appointments. These are limited due to an ongoing shortage of dentists.

At present, the only full-time dentist at the practice is Mr Godfrey. Unfortunately, he is currently unable to work due to an administrative error during his annual registration for CPD documents which were not uploaded correctly and as the result he has now temporarily been removed from the register.
This information is currently visible online. Until the regulator reinstates his registration, he is legally unable to practise. All correct documentation has been provided by the practice, but the timeline for reinstatement is outside of our control.

This is not an ideal situation, but it is the reality we are currently facing.

We kindly ask that patients refrain from posting unfactual or speculative information online. This has resulted in unnecessary calls to the practice, which impacts our ability to assist those who genuinely require urgent care.

It is also important to recognise that Mr Godfrey has worked tirelessly for many years to retain an NHS contract for the people of Retford, at a time when many practices have chosen to privatise, reduce NHS contracts (thereby seeing fewer patients), or relocate.

If you have genuine questions or concerns, we respectfully ask that you contact the practice directly rather than posting on social media, as online speculation only creates confusion and misinformation.
We are hoping to resume a normal service very soon.
