While most of this report refers to England, we are essentially in the same shortage job market. Instead of overseas dentists being focused on the examination bodies in London, Scotland should set up it's own training, induction and UK qualification exam.
This could be self-funding and I have been promised as long ago as 2023 that The Scottish Government were in talks with the Royal The Royal College of Surgeons of Edinburgh to look at an Independent Scottish training and examination route so we get these overseas dentist up here and outside the M25.

Everyone knows more dentists are needed, and not only for NHS work. But will the Government’s plans make a difference? Jaimie Kaffash reports

The hostile environment to which our immigrant dentists are being subjected is unfair and shameful. Applying for an exam slot should not be as haphazard as buying an Oasis ticket with some dentists unable to work for 5 years. If there is one thing Brits ought to be able to do, it's organise an orderly queue.
