Practice Update

We are seeing routine examinations and currently working through the backlog of overdue check ups. It will take a bit of time to get through everyone and as always, your ongoing patience and understanding is greatly appreciated. It's a bit of a balancing act between keeping on top of treatments and emergencies whilst trying to see everybody who is due a check up and admittedly, it is taking a bit longer than expected.

We are trying to prioritise routine examinations for patients who have not been to the practice in over a year. If this is you then please get in touch (preferably via email or Facebook to keep the phone lines free) and we can organise an appointment for you.

We are currently working to a 1 year NHS check up to help us manage our waiting list. Hygienist appointments are available in the meantime.

If you have any issues or general queries then please get in touch.

The phone line can get busy and if you’re happy to, you can message the page directly or email the practice at [email protected]. Alternatively you can submit a message on the website's home page.

Please include a brief outline of your problem or query and we aim to be in touch within 2 working days (it is often much sooner).

If you have any friends or family who you think might benefit from this information, please let them know.

We look forward to seeing you soon.

Thank you

We are very grateful for everyone’s patience as we continue to work our way through the backlog of check ups.

We can only see a limited number per day as surgery time is required for treatments, both routine and emergency.

If you’re still waiting for an appointment please be assured we will get to everyone eventually.

In the meantime, if you’re having any issues or notice any changes with your teeth or gums then please get in touch.

If the phone line is busy you can get in touch on Facebook, email us at [email protected] or via our website www.reformstreetdental.co.uk/

We are a committed and dedicated NHS and Private General Dental Practice

Just a reminder that the practice is open and ready to help with any dental issues you may be experiencing.

The phone line does get busy, particularly early morning, so please persevere.

Alternatively you can send a message on Facebook, via our website or send us an email and we will get back to you as soon as possible.

We are able to see a small number of routine check ups per day and we are working our way through the overdue examinations but again, if you have any dental concerns then please get in touch.

Your ongoing patience and support is greatly appreciated and we look forward seeing you soon.

Thank you.

An update for our patients:

The practice is open to assist with any dental issues you may be experiencing.

A note of your problem will be taken and you will be contacted and offered an appointment as soon as we can.

We are triaging appointments and people with severe dental pain, swelling, trauma and ulcerations that have not cleared after 2 weeks are being treated as a priority.

If you are awaiting an appointment and your condition worsens then please contact the practice.

We are aiming to remobilise routine examinations in April but please note we need to leave sufficient space in the appointment book for emergency appointments and for planned treatment. This, along with social distancing and increased down time for surgeries between treatments does limit the numbers of exams we can perform in a day. Please rest assured we will get round to seeing everyone as soon as possible but this will take some time. In the meantime we are here to help.

Your ongoing patience and understanding is greatly appreciated as we navigate through this challenging time and we look forward to welcoming you back to the practice soon

Thank you

Dear Patient,

As of 1st November restrictions have eased with regards to NHS services we are able to offer.

As with all dental practices we are working to make this as viable as possible. There are two main issues affecting how many patients we will be able to see on a daily basis. These are:

1. Social Distancing.
We want as many dentists, members as staff and patients in as possible. However, patient and staff safety is our number one priority.

2. ‘Fallow time’ after an aerosol generating procedure
This is the amount of time that a surgery has to be left after a patient has been treated before we are able to reuse it.

The most common aerosol generating procedures are use of the high speed dental drill and the ultrasonic cleaner for deep cleans (scale and polish).

We have been advised by the health board to use our clinical judgement to prioritise patients for emergency treatment and those at greater risk of oral diseases.

We aim to remobilise routine check ups this month, starting with patients who missed their check up at the beginning of lockdown and working backwards from there. Please await contact from the practice regarding your check up.

If you have any dental issues then please contact the practice. A record of your call will be taken and you will be contacted at a later date regarding an appointment. However, please be aware that it is most likely a temporary measure will be placed and arrangements for a permanent repair will be discussed.

Please see the attached press release from NHS Tayside for further information.

Thank you for your ongoing patience and understanding and we look forward to welcoming you back to the practice soon.

The Scottish Government has announced that NHS services can resume from 1st November.

We are awaiting further information on how this is to be implemented in practice and will update patients on the website and page as soon as possible.

For now, we are still working to the current guidelines which can be found on previous posts or by following this link to our website https://www.reformstreetdental.co.uk/covid-19-and-your-dental-treatment

Thank you.

We are awaiting further information on how this is to be implemented in practice and will update patients on the website and page as soon as possible.

An update for our patients.

Firstly, thank you for supporting the practice at this time. We know and understand a number of you are living with dental issues and we will endeavour to see and treat you as soon as we are able to. In the meantime we are happy to offer advice or temporary repairs where appropriate.

Scottish government and NHS COVID-19 guidelines have not changed and treatment we can provide remains limited. For a list of available treatments on the NHS please visit our website at reformstreetdental.co.uk

Private/independent treatment is not subject to these guidelines and remains an option for routine treatment. We have not changed our private treatment fees from pre-Covid levels and are not charging for the extra PPE that is required.

Hygienist appointments are also available.

The practice has had a fresh coat of paint (inside and out!) and we are looking to add to our available services including a new payment plan and facial rejuvenation treatments, including anti-wrinkle injections and dermal fillers.

We look forward to seeing you all again when things are closer to ‘normal’.

As always, if you have any issues then please get in touch and we will do our best to assist.

If you have any friends or family members who may be interested in following the page and keeping up to date with practice developments, please let them know.

Thank you.
