⭐️IMPORTANT UPDATE ⭐️:
Changes to NHS dentistry from 1st November 2023
The Scottish Government has undertaken a full review of the provision of NHS dentistry in Scotland and is making significant changes. Please note these fees and changes are set by the Government and not the practice.
The most significant changes will include:
-A change in the number of treatments available on the NHS
-How often those treatments can be provided to patients
-An increase in NHS costs for some treatments
The frequency you will be able to attend for an NHS dental examination will be based on your individual clinical need. For most patients this will mean a change from 6 monthly NHS examinations, to between 12-24 months.
The dental team will follow SDCEP guidelines and patient's risk factors will be assessed to determine the frequency of your exams visits. (This is still a free service under the NHS)
Unscheduled appointments, including dressings on teeth, trauma, pain, smoothing a tooth, re-cementing a crown etc will be charged at a minimum fee £15.68.
(Unless exempt from paying NHS dental fees)
NHS denture repairs and alterations are now charged at £50.88 (unless exempt from paying NHS dental charges)
A variety of other NHS treatment costs have been increased and certain treatments may no longer be available under the NHS.

Please bear with us while we all get used to the new system!
Take care,
