Found this 1978 orthodontic book, An Atlas of Removable Orthodontic Appliances by G. C. Dickson and A. E. Wheatley, in the lab today… and nearly 40 years later, we’re still making many of the same appliances 😄

Technology has changed a lot, but some things in orthodontics clearly stand the test of time.

Only for Dumfries and Galloway dental practice.

Good communication between the dentist and dental laboratory is key to achieving the best result.

We can receive and import X-rays alongside intraoral scans and implant information into our digital workflow. This provides valuable clinical reference when designing custom abutments and implant restorations.

The more accurate information we receive, the better we can plan and design the final restoration.

Another case milled in-house.

A full lower zirconia bridge milled from a single disc, ready for the next stages of finishing.

Keeping production in-house gives us complete control over quality, fit and turnaround times, helping us deliver consistent results for every patient.

Quality starts long before the restoration reaches the clinic.

Custom abutment cementation… the part where one tiny drop of cement can make your day or ruin it. 😅

How do you do yours?

Just a reminder why scan body scans matter.

This implant scan body was scanned poorly, resulting in a different implant position in the software. Even a small scanning error can lead to a poorly fitting restoration, remakes, and wasted chair time.

Always make sure the scan body is clean, fully seated, and captured from all angles before sending the case to the lab. A few extra seconds scanning can save hours later.

Have you ever had a case like this?
