📣 Patient Notice: October Holidays 🍁🎃

The clinical side of our business will be closed from Monday 19th October to Friday 23rd October inclusive, while Matt takes a well-deserved October break. ✈️☀️

Patients with pre-scheduled appointments or referrals will already have been contacted, so disruption should be minimal. Clinical appointments will resume as normal from Monday 25th October.

🔬👄Our laboratory services will remain available as usual, and emergency appointments will continue to be offered.

We’ve been incredibly busy recently, and we’d like to thank all our patients and clients for your continued support and patience as we continue to implement significant changes.

There’s still more to come, and we’re excited to share the next chapter of this momentous year with you.

🎉 🥳 Huge congratulations to our very own Commander-in-Chief, Matthew Scott, we’re beyond thrilled to be able to announce his success in passing his Royal College of Surgeons examinations!

This incredible achievement means Matthew now holds the esteemed distinction of being the first—and the only—Clinical Dental Technologist established in Dumfries & Galloway and the whole of South West Scotland.

2026 has been a landmark year for our company. Our uncompromising commitment to continual growth and innovation has enabled us to invest in the very latest intraoral scanning technology and advanced 3D printing capabilities, allowing us to provide an even higher standard of care for our patients.

This milestone also brings an exciting new chapter for dental patients across Dumfries & Galloway. It presents a unique option for patients across the region to directly utilise our services. And we will shortly be registering patients through our in-house clinical facilities for a wide range of dental prosthetic treatments.
We will also continue working alongside Dumfries & Galloway Royal Infirmary and a select number of dental practices throughout the region as a specialist provider of prosthetic care.
Practitioners across the region can also now take advantage of a direct referral system which we will soon be implementing further helping to ease the burden and back log many practices still face.

This recognition marks another significant step in our journey, and we’re excited about what lies ahead. With the foundations we’ve built in 2026, we’re confident that 2027 will be yet an even more rewarding year.

We are now closed for the Bank Holiday. We appreciate your understanding, and hope you all enjoy the extended weekend, we will reopen on Tuesday the 5th at 9.00am and look forward to welcoming all our wonderful patients back then.
In the meantime, we would also like to extend our sincere gratitude to the team at Vanguard Installations for their continued hard work and for kindly agreeing to carry on with the ongoing redevelopment works over the weekend.

We’re growing to serve you better. Over the coming weeks, building works will be underway as part of our continued expansion. You may notice some changes around the premises, but rest assured — every appointment and every service will continue without interruption.

This is a particular busy time of the year for the business, and we thank you for your patience during this time. Please take extra care around any marked areas when you visit, for your appointment. We anticipate all major works to be completed by late February, with minor decoration to follow shortly after.

And as we look ahead, 2026 is shaping into a remarkable chapter for us — a year of unparalleled opportunity and bold progress as we pursue a strategy of relentless ambition, all aimed at delivering even greater benefits for our patients.

At Dumfries Dental Laboratory, we are pleased to offer in‑house surgical guide manufacture, combining the latest digital imaging, design, and 3D fabrication technologies to deliver highly accurate guides that support safe, efficient implant surgery and other guided procedures.

A surgical guide (also called a surgical or implant template) is a custom device fabricated based on patient‑specific anatomical data (e.g. CBCT scans, intraoral scans or impressions). It guides the location, angle, depth (and sometimes the path) of implant drills, or other surgical instruments, during dental surgery. The aim is to enhance precision, reduce risk, improve surgical efficiency, reduce trauma, and improve patient outcomes.
